Home care SEO in the UK for CQC-registered agencies
Home care SEO in the UK means getting your agency found when a family searches for care in your town, and when a carer looks for work nearby. I do it with local pages, a properly set-up Google Business Profile and a site that shows your CQC rating clearly. You work with me directly, from the first audit to the monthly check-in.

Why good agencies stay invisible on Google
Families rarely search for an agency by name. They type "home care in Reading" or "carers near me", often from a phone after a hospital call. If your site has one generic services page, Google has little reason to show you in those towns.
Your Google Business Profile shows your office as a shopfront, or it got suspended after an address change.
The CQC rating is buried in the footer or missing. Families and commissioners look for it before they ring.
Pages talk about "quality care solutions" instead of the words people search, like live-in care, dementia care or care after a hospital stay.
Carer vacancies live only on job boards, so your own site gets none of that search traffic.
What my home care SEO covers
Each piece is aimed at a real search a family or carer makes. Nothing here is a generic SEO checklist.
Local SEO and town pages
A useful page for each town or borough you cover. It names the area, your visit times, how fast you can start and who the local manager is. No copied text with the town name swapped.
Google Business Profile
Set up as a service-area business with the right primary category, your services, the towns you cover, real photos and a simple way to ask families for reviews. I write the review replies with you.
CQC-registered trust signals
The official CQC ratings widget on key pages, your registered manager, your provider details and a link to your CQC profile. This also gives Google clear facts about who you are.
Care-specific keywords
I research the terms families in your area use: domiciliary care, home care, live-in care, respite, dementia support, reablement. Then I map one main term to each page so they don't compete.
Carer recruitment pages
A careers section with a page per role and area, job schema so roles can appear in Google's job results, and a short mobile application. My post on building a carer recruitment website instead of relying on job boards explains the thinking.
Families and carers search differently
So I plan the site in two lanes. One serves the daughter booking care for her dad. The other serves the carer looking for shifts close to home.
- Families want to know what care you give, which towns you cover, how soon you can start, and whether you're CQC-rated. Funding questions come up a lot too, from self-funders and from people with council-arranged care or a direct payment.
- Carers want pay, travel, shift patterns and how quickly you reply. A clear answer on mileage and travel time beats a long values statement.
- For the client side, I wrote a longer guide on how home care agencies win self-funding clients online.
- Google keeps changing how local results look. I keep an eye on it, and my notes on Google Business Profile changes in 2026 cover what matters for service-area businesses.

Home care SEO questions
What does home care SEO in the UK actually involve?
It covers four things. Your site needs service and area pages that match what families type into Google. Your Google Business Profile needs to be set up as a service-area business. Your CQC registration and rating need to be easy to find. And your careers pages need to be indexable so carers can find your jobs too.
How long before I see results?
Fixes to your Google Business Profile and site errors can show up within weeks. New town pages usually take a few months to settle in the rankings. I won't promise a position or a date, because nobody controls Google.
Do I need a new website for this?
Not always. If your current site is fast and you can add pages, I'll work on it as it is. If it's slow, hard to edit or missing the basics, I'll say so and quote for a rebuild through my home care websites service.
Should my agency address show on Google Maps?
Most domiciliary care agencies visit clients at home, so Google treats you as a service-area business. In that case you hide the office address and list the towns you cover. I'll set that up correctly, which also helps avoid suspensions.
Can you put my CQC rating on the website?
Yes. CQC provides an official ratings widget, and registered providers are expected to show their latest rating on their website. I add it where families will see it, and I link to your CQC profile.
Do you write the content?
Yes. I draft it from a call with you and you approve every word, especially anything about your registration, rating, funding or the care you provide.
Do you only work with UK agencies?
This page is written for UK agencies. I also work with independent agencies in the US.
